Meth-induced Wal-Mart car crash caught on camera

Police in San Jose, California have released video of a car crashing through a Wal-Mart and terrorizing customers this past March.

At around 11:15 a.m. on March 31, 2013, Haamid Zaid, a 33-year-old Seaside, California man with a history of bizarre drug-fueled crimes, got high on crystal methamphetamine and took a classic Oldsmobile on a joyride to the Walmart at 777 Story Boulevard. He hit two cars and proceeded to crash directly into the front entrance of the store before getting his car stuck in a beer display.

Zaid then exited the vehicle and took swings at terrified patrons with some sort of blunt steel object. Other bystanders rushed in and subdued him. Police took him into custody minutes later.

Even though this story was widely reported earlier in the year, police have now released the video in the hopes of identifying more witnesses and victims for the upcoming trial. Amazingly, there were no major injuries.
