James Valentine is one very lucky man. The 21-year-old from Ross Township, Pennsylvania was recently involved in a work accident that left a chainsaw blade lodged in his neck.

Valentine, who works for the company, Adler Tree Service, had been at a job site tending to a pine tree when the chainsaw kicked back and cut into his neck.
Both co-workers and police immediately sprang into action. They removed the blade from the motor and left that blade in his body. They held it in place to prevent a massive loss of blood and waited for paramedics.
He was stabilized and anesthetized before undergoing surgery to finally remove the blade. Doctors deem Valentine to be an exceptionally fortunate man as the blade just narrowly missed slicing into major arteries; specifically the teeth were about one centimeter away from his carotid artery which is responsible for supplying blood to the brain.
His condition is now listed as stable and doctors say he’s going to make a full recovery.
