Have you ever wondered what happened to the cup used at the Last Supper by Jesus? Well so have many biblical experts and historians.

Margarita Torres and Jose Manuel Ortega del Rio, co-authors of a new Spanish book whose title translates as ‘The Kings of the Grail’ believe they’ve located the cup that has served as a mystery for the past 2 thousand years.

The pair is claiming that the cup has been at the Basilica of San Isidoro in Leon, Spain for the past 1000 years, half the time it was thought missing. In their book, Ortega del Rio and Torres allege Muslims stole the cup from Jerusalem and brought it to Egypt.

They think the cup was later encrusted with jewels and presented to Christian King Ferdinand I as a gift. The researchers obtained evidence of their claims by scouring through and deciphering ancient Egyptian scrolls.

The cup has been on display at the Basilica since the 1950s, but prior to that it was confined to a storage unit. Despite the promising results of their probe, the revelation concerning the location and story of the cup has been met with some skepticism.
