Singing nun on Italy's 'Voice' goes viral, Lebanese singer wins Arabia version

The worldwide popularity of the hit reality TV show ‘The Voice’ continues to grow.
In Lebanon, 23-year-old Iraqi singer Sattar Sa’ad was crowned this year’s ‘Voice Arabia’ winner, now in its second season.
Sa’ad walked away with a new car and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
‘‘It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I want to thank all the Arabic people who supported and voted for me to become the voice. I want to thank God I didn’t disappoint you. God willing I will perform the latest and best songs,’‘ Sa’ad said.
The show sees aspiring singers get coached by leading music artists and then the contestants are pitted against each other in front of a panel of judges who initially face away from the contestant and judges them just on sound rather than appearance.
In Italy, sister Cristina Scuccia took the show by storm wowing the judges with her rendition of Alicia Keys’ ballad, ‘No One’. The 25-year-old singing nun has become an internet sensation.
