THE INTERVIEW - Judith Kipper, Director of the Middle East Program, Institute of World Affairs
  • 10 years ago
Saudi Arabia’s main challenges are domestic and not external, argues internationally recognised Middle East specialist Judith Kipper. She says Riyadh needs to pursue economic reforms and secure jobs for the country’s growing youth population. She argues that the US should focus on helping Riyadh achieve those goals. Kipper believes that Washington has not paid enough attention to the content of the strategic partnership and has taken the Saudis for granted since the end of the Cold War.
