A two year old boy is slowly recovering in a hospital in Afghanistan.

He's just come out of a coma.

Last week his mother, his father and two sisters were all killed in an attack on a Kabul guesthouse.

He's on the mend.

"Day by day we are very happy and we are happy from our treatment and also management of this child."

His aunt says he is the only member of his immediate family left.

"Day by day His condition improves. I'm thankful that he is fine and alive. He recognizes everyone and even laughs. I am so delighted that one person is left from Sardar's family."

She worries about what she can say when he is old enough to understand
