Kiwis, Aussies report objects in missing plane's new search zone

New signs in the search for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370.

Planes from both New Zealand and Australia on Friday reported spotting objects in the water.

An official from the Royal New Zealand Air Force said the finding came in the new search zone west of Perth.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) RNZAF FLIGHT LIEUTENANT JAMIN BAKER SAYING:

"Yeah, it certainly sounds like we're getting into an area of interest. Obviously we don't know if these (objects) are associated with the aircraft (MH370) yet, but it certainly looks like we are seeing a lot more debris and just general flotsam in the water, so we could be on to something here."

The Australian aircraft also turned up objects in the Indian Ocean.
