Almost 20 years after the landmark Super NES original, Yoshi’s Island is back. Bigger eggs, bigger bosses, bigger vengeance! Yoshi’s New Island is a gorgeous 2D platformer that puts Mario’s safety squarely on Yoshi’s back. Literally. When his baby brother is kidnapped by the magikoopa Kamek, Baby Mario once again sets off to find him. And he’ll need a lift from Yoshi. Players control Yoshi through six beautiful worlds in this stylish and tightly controlled platformer. Yoshi can swallow enemies and make eggs, which he can throw like missiles. And in one of the key gameplay elements, Yoshi can flutter in the air briefly to extend his jumps. Each level features three things to collect—red coins, daisies and stars. Collect ‘em all for the perfect score, but don’t be fooled by the game’s colorful appearance. That’s easier said than done in Yoshi’s New Island.
