Child abuse: elderly men sexually molest poor Chinese girl

A poor 13-year-old girl in Guangxi, China nicknamed Rain is the victim of gang rape by 18 old men who live in her village. Of the 18 men who were involved, only 10 were prosecuted and sentenced to prison. Her oldest assailant was aged 76, while the youngest was 44.

Rain's nightmare began in 2011 while she was working on a the farm. She was called over by a 76-year-old man named Huang Yanlai, who raped her right there in a forest.

Afterward, Huang told other old villagers that "Rain is easy to get", turning her into a target for many old men in the village.

As Rain's parents worked in another city, Huang was able to gather his friends to go to Rain's house together to gang rape her. Initially it seemed that a 60-year-old man named Jhen Meiguang was the only one who spoke up for her, telling the others to "let the little girl go!" However, Jhen turned out to be the worst offender, raping Rain at least 15 times, more than anyone else. On average, the other men had molested her three to four times.

Each time the men attacked Rain, they paid her US$2-4, warning her not to tell anyone else what they had done.

When Rain's father discovered what was happening, he filed a criminal report. Some of the men then had the audacity to claim that Rain was the one who offered to have sex with them for money. In the end, 10 men were charged, including Huang and Jhen, and were sentenced to prison for their crime.
