LAHORE- Police today used batons to disperse protesting young nurses outside the Punjab Assembly. Young nurses continued their protest on the fifth consecutive day today to press the government in favor of their demands.
The nurses were protesting to demand permanent jobs in the government hospitals across Punjab and approval for their service structure. Several nurses were reportedly injured due to the incident outside the Punjab Assembly. One of the nurse tortured by police was pregnant, who was shifted to hospital in critical condition. Following the incident, nurses at Ganga Ram hospital and Mayo hospital have boycotted from their duties.
