Dismantling Fukushima

Japan this week marks the anniversary of the deadly 9.0-magnitude earthquake that hit its northern region on March 11, 2011, prompting a massive tsunami. Waves swamped cooling systems at the Fukushima nuclear plant sending the utility's reactors into meltdown and forcing the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents in the worst atomic accident since Chernobyl in 1986. The plant remains volatile and engineers say it will take four decades to dismantle the crippled reactors.VIDEOGRAPHIC
