China illegal gambling hall explosion: 15 killed, eight injured

Chinese police have arrested eight people in connection with an explosion at a remote village in Guizhou province that killed at least 15 people.

The explosion took place at an illegal gambling site inside a tent on a hill in Laoshan village in Kaili City, Guizhou Province on January 13. The blast killed at least 15 gamblers. Eight people were wounded.

According to Xinhua, the tent, which was built a month ago, was completely destroyed by the explosion. The blast left a hole in the ground about 2 m wide.

Police are still investigating the cause of the blast, but it is believed that the explosion was set deliberately.
