2014 Academy Awards: Oscars and Hollywood keep it real

With global unrest in Ukraine, Venezuela, Thailand, the Middle East and Africa, thank god Hollywood actors were able to take time out of their busy schedules reading lines other people write for them to all get together for the biggest annual circle jerk in the world, the Oscars, to tell everyone how super, awesome and talented they are.
Ellen DeGeneres was the host for the 86th annual Academy Awards where stars were dressed in clothes and jewelry that cost more than most people make in a year. But anything for fashion right?
The world was also got another taste of Pharrell and his really really really big hat.
The best picture award and best supporting actress went to 12 Years a Slave. It also was also able to pick up the best adapted screenplay honor. Matthew McConaughey picked up best actor for his leading role in Dallas Buyers Club. Cate Blanchett took home best actress in Blue Jasmine. Alfonso Cuaron was named best director for Gravity. The best animated movie went to Frozen. The best foreign film was bestowed upon The Great Beauty. The best original screenplay went to Spike Jonze and his movie Her.
Some other film called Gravity picked up seven unimportant awards.
The best part of the night was definitely Jared Leto, who won best supporting actor, and his acceptance speech where a actually gave a shout out to the "people" in Venezuela and Ukraine watching the Oscars.
