Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice recently pled guilty to charges of fraud.

If those names don’t ring a bell, the husband and wife are stars on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In the summer of last year, the couple, who are the parents of four children, was charged with ‘illegally obtaining mortgages’ and ‘conspiring to defraud lenders’.

The indictment contained a total of 39 counts. Fraudulent statements on bank and loan paperwork, hidden assets and income along with mail and bankruptcy fraud are just a few mentionables.

According to prosecutors, the pair received over $4.5 million in construction loans, mortgages and home equity lines of credit. The loans were granted based on W-2s and tax returns which were later deemed to be fake.

Initially, they both pleaded not guilty to the charges and later asked to be tried separately. Shortly after the petition for differing trials, the couple pled guilty. Their sentencing is scheduled for July 8th.

In addition to potential jail time, Joe Giudice may face deportation as he’s an Italian resident.
