Vasantha Balan's Kaaviya Thalaivan, which was rumoured to be the adaptation of KB Sundarambal and Kittappa's love saga, is apparently not that. But it is set in their period and is a grand musical, as speculated.
Meanwhile, 45% of the film has been canned over 2 schedules and the talkie portions are expected to be completed by the end of November. The makers are also supposedly planning to begin the promotional campaigns by December end or January.
