Do you think you could go without touching your phone for 10 minutes?

Giorgio Armani is hoping so, because if you’re successful he’ll donate a day’s worth of clean drinking water to a child in need.

Armani is the current sponsor of UNICEF’s Tap Project, and he’s helping the organization deliver drinkable water to areas where it’s scarce.

According to UNICEF, there are over 760 million people worldwide without reliable access to the life necessity.

What’s being asked of people is to help bring that number down by sacrificing a little bit of time away from a relative luxury.

Participation has been made easy, and once the process has been started, there’s nothing more to do except not do things like check email, tweet, or stream cat videos.

Whenever one is ready to begin, all it takes is opening the UNICEF Tap Project site via smartphone, navigating through the start-up screens, and then walking away.

The site does the rest, including providing the user with a countdown. The clock will continue to run as long as the phone isn’t touched or moved.

There’s no limit, and as the time piles up, so do the charitable benefits.
