Installation of the first 3 MW Vestas V90 turbine of the Hydro Tasmania owned $395 Million - 168 Megawatt Musselroe Wind Farm project due for completion by 1st July 2013.
The 1,200 tonne crane used is the largest model telescopic crawler crane in the world. And using a helicopter to string the transmission line across some fairly inaccessible terrain, Hydro Tasmania says it is the cheapest option for the wind farm.
The wind turbines are located in Tasmania and will pick up strong westerly winds from the "Roaring Forties" http://bit.ly/SOpmj0
