A former jail guard in New York City confessed to having an affair with an inmate, Ronell Wilson in 2012. She pleaded guilty to unlawfully having sex with the inmate and was recently sentenced to one year behind bars.

Prison guards are typically forced to keep personal connections with inmates non existent.

A former jail guard at a Brooklyn, New York facility chose to do the opposite. Nancy Gonzalez is the woman in question.

In July of 2013, she admitted to having a sexual relationship in 2012 with inmate, Ronell Wilson. At that point in time, Gonzalez had been working the night shift at Metropolitan Detention Center.

Gonzalez became pregnant with Wilson’s child a few months after their sexual relationship began. After that, the allegations surrounding her were impossible to deny.

She pleaded guilty to unlawfully having sex with the inmate. She was recently sentenced to one year and one day behind bars.

Wilson was convicted in 2003 for the fatal shootings of two undercover cops during a firearm raid that went wrong. Just last year, he was sentenced to death.

Last March, Gonzalez gave birth to the pair’s son. Several months after the birth, Gonzalez lost custody of the child after a Family Court judge in Suffolk County ruled she neglected the infant and had substance abuse issues.
