Do you know what the best cardio for weight loss is?? Is there even a correct answer to that question? We all know that cardio training has multiple health benefits but from a purely weight loss perspective do you think there is a most effective type of cardio for weight loss? well...

Understandably when losing weight we want to do the most effective exercises. While a range of cardio exercises have multiple benefits, here's a list of the most common ones and their calorie totals burnt per hour.

Calories per Hour

Walking - 300-400
Running - 600
Cycling - 600
Swimming - 600
Rowing - 800
Skipping rope - 1000

Not that surprising (apart from skipping rope being the highest). Not to say that's all you should do if you want to lose weight but sticking to the higher calorie burners is going to be beneficial from a weight loss perspective.

Mixing your cardio sources is going to be one of the best ways to burn the most amount of weight using cardio. As the more you perform one single type of cardio the less effective it become for your fitness and weight loss as your body adapts to the stresses and strains that particular type of cardio puts on your body.

So even though you might think the best cardio for weight loss looks like skipping, I'd encourage you to incorporate at least 2 more different types of cardio so that your body gets a different stimulus and your weight loss continues at a rapid rate.

Walking is one of the best ways to burn a higher amount of fat, so that may be considered as the best cardio for fat loss. But for weight loss I definitely recommend skipping and 2 other forms of cardio of your choice.
