Florida murders: Man kills roommate over stolen chicken foot

James Jugo, a 52-year-old man from Tampa, Florida was arrested for murdering his 56-year-old roommate, Benjamin Calderon, over a stolen chicken foot on Valentine's Day.
Jugo was deep-frying chicken feet when Calderon took one from the frying pan. The two got into an argument, and Jugo beat Calderon to death with his bare hands. It is unclear whether Calderon died immediately after the beating.
Police were called to the scene later that day to investigate, and Jugo was arrested. An autopsy showed that Calderon died of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and body and internal bleeding.
Jugo was booked into Hillsborough County Jail on $15,000 bond and could face manslaughter charges.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, Calderon was in between jobs when the tragedy happened. He had just been let go by a security job and was working towards applying for a license to become an armed security officer.
Calderon is survived by a mother, two brothers, a sister and children who are devastated by the news of his passing and are hoping to receive more information about the case once the investigation is over.
Calderon's brother Bolivar Calderon summed up the case in nine simple words: "No one deserves to die over a chicken foot."
