Investigators close their probe into Schumacher fall

Michael Schumacher’s skiing accident, was exactly that: an accident – according to the French prosecutor investigating the case.

French investigators could find no evidence of criminal wrong-doing connected to the Formula One legend’s tragic fall on Dec 29th last year, while skiing off piste at France’s exclusive Meribel resort.

Schumacher suffered serious head injuries after taking a route between two pistes. He fell and hit the right side of his head against a rock hidden in the snow.

The prosecutor said the pistes were adequately marked according to French norms.

After the accident Schumacher was taken to Grenoble University Hospital, where he is now slowly being woken from coma, which was medically induced as part of his treatment.

It is understood that it may take months before the retired Formula One champion’s prognosis is clear.
