Fantasia review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Fantasia for the SEGA Genesis developed by Infogrames and published by SEGA.

One of the greatest Disney animated films in history becomes one of the worst SEGA games in history in the notorious Fantasia. Released for the Genesis in 1991, Fantasia came a year after the classic Mickey Mouse game Castle Of Illusion. Unfortunately, the biggest illusion is to think Fantasia is of the same quality. This game released to very poor reviews and became a 16-bit legend—for all the wrong reasons. Playing as a dream version of Mickey Mouse, you move through 2D levels inspired by the 1940 film masterpiece. The game is also notoriously difficult, known for combining ruthless level design with controls and mechanics that make them even harder. During an era in which several Disney games were classics, Fantasia fell short of the standard set by games like Castle Of Illusion, DuckTales and Chip ’n Dale Rescue Rangers. Fantasia is a single-player platformer exclusive to the Genesis.

This video review features video gameplay footage of Fantasia for the SEGA Genesis and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
