Akron, Ohio man pepper sprays and bites mailman who didn't bring his check

An Akron, Ohio man allegedly pepper sprayed and bit a mailman after when he failed to receive a check that he had been long expecting. Robert Kiefer, 25, even went as far to assault police officers who tried to break up his fight with the 56-year-old postal worker.
Kiefer was waiting with bated breath at home last Saturday afternoon for an important check. When the mailman showed up, without his much-anticipated check, Kiefer went apesh*t, grabbing the mailman's pepper spray and spraying him in the eyes with it. He next proceeded to bite the man's leg.
The mailman managed to fend off his attacker and ran off, but the two were later spotted wrestling on the ground at a nearby intersection.
Akron police officers were called to the scene and saw a small group of onlookers huddled around the two fighting men.
According to authorities, Kiefer resisted police efforts to stop the fighting and fought with an officer trying to handcuff him. Police were eventually forced to pepper spray Kiefer to subdue the crazed man, according to a local report.
The postal worker said Kiefer bit him three times in the leg during their fight, but none of the injuries were severe, according to authorities.
Kiefer was arrested at the scene on misdemeanor charges of assault and resisting arrest. He now remains in custody at the Summit County Jail after he was unable to post the $1,000 bond set Monday in Akron Municipal Court. Kiefer is expected to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on February 21st.
