Iran's Supreme Leader went on the offensive on Saturday.

He accused the U.S. of lying in its statements of friendship towards Iran.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was speaking to an audience of airforce officers to mark the 35th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution.

He cautioned his nation to keep a watchful eye during negotiations with the U.S. over its nuclear program.

It comes just ten days before Tehran and world powers start talks on a long-term deal over Iran's nuclear aspirations.

"American authorities use one tone in private meetings with the authorities of our country and as soon as they part and go outside they use a different tone. These double standards of our enemy, these evil and ill intentions of our enemies, the people of Iran must see this."

Khamenei's comments also come the same day Iran resumed nuclear talks with the U.N.'s atomic energy agency or IAEA.
