Berlinale 2014 movie festival kicks off

Berlin's 64th International Film Festival has just kicked off, with 'the Grand Budapest Hotel' opening the star-studded event. More than 400 films are being screened there, with 23 competing for the grand prize, The Golden Bear. The festivals in Berlin, Venice and Cannes have become increasingly important fixtures for the film industry. Al Jazeera's Phil Lavelle is there for us.
