Eventually the fire was successfully tackled. Nobody was injured. A new pumper truck, along with five other official vehicles were however, destroyed in the blaze.
The cause of the blaze is currently being investigated by the Ontario Fire Marshal. The local mayor and fire chief have met with neighboring communities to discuss the handling of future emergencies in Mount Albert.
