Cricket World Record 48 Hour Net - Hoggard, Newman, Wells Get The Challenge Underway

On 31st January 2014, Dave Newman and Richard Wells set out on a batting marathon, attempting to break the world record for a continuous cricket net.

They aimed to go for 48 hours and in this video, shot during the early stages of their record attempt, we speak to those involved including Matthew Hoggard, who kicked off the event as Joinin's Global Cricket Community Ambassador and Ian Watson of Brain Tumour Research.

Wayne Chessum, a team-mate of Dave and Richard's at Billinbgorough Cricket Club, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2008. Now recovered, he also talks about the pair's attempt before getting involved and bowling himself.
