Seattle Seahawks beat Denver Broncos to win Super Bowl
  • 10 years ago
There are going to be some sleepless nights in Seattle this week as the Emerald City celebrates its football team’s stunning Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos.

They won the game 43-8 to capture their first NFL crown in franchise history; and they did in such style, the match will surely go down in American football history.

The usually high-scoring Broncos were undone by a dominant defensive display which shut down the top-rated offense and their record-setting quarterback Peyton Manning.

Linebacker Malcolm Smith, who received the Most Valuable Player, award, was a tower in defence making one 69-yard interception which helped the Seahawks enjoy a 22-0 lead at the break.

It all meant Seahawks coach Pete Caroll could finally get his hands on the Vince Lombardi trophy, 20 years after he started out coaching.
