All Nippon Airways forced to apologise over 'racist' advert

All Nippon Airways was flooded with complaints over the 'racist advert' after it was first aired on January 18th and it was eventually pulled on January 20th. The advert was supposed to highlight the importance of the planned expansion of international services from Haneda Airport. But instead it was criticized as racist, as one of the characters was featured wearing a larger rubber nose and blond wig. There was sharp criticism of the ad on English-language social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. While others said that the ad was not malicious in any way. A large number of commenters on foreign website sai they thought that the ad was not really racist. Foreign employees at Next Media Animation also had divided opinions about the ad.
