Ukrainian opposition lobbies for support at security conference

The protests in Ukraine have spread to Germany.

Outside the Munich Security Conference, hundreds gather in solidarity to support demonstrators back in Kiev.

The protest even drew boxer-turned-opposition leader Vitaly Klitschko.

(SOUNDBITE) (German) UKRAINIAN OPPOSITION LEADER, VITALY KLITSCHKO, SAYING:

"We want to become a modern European country. We want to live a good future and a safe future. And the land we want to live in is Ukraine."

The unrest started when President Viktor Yanukovich turned down a deal with the European Union and chose Russia instead.

That decision provoked mass demonstrations that have led to deadly violence and numerous occupations.

Back at the conference, opposition leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk is also lobbying for support.
