Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) on Monday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $1 billion, or $1.54 per share, topping Wall Street estimates of $1.28. Revenue fell to $14.40 billion, compared with $16.08 billion a year ago.Shares of Caterpillar rose 5.73 percent to $91.11 in early trading.The Dow Jones industrial average rose 28.44 points, or 0.18 percent, to 15,907.55. The S&P 500 gained 0.96 points, or 0.05 percent, to 1,790.88. The Nasdaq Composite added 15.23 points, or 0.37 percent, to 4,114.25.
