China: Jade Rabbit moon rover 'breaks down'

It was all going so well for China’s landmark lunar mission…

But Jade Rabbit, the first robotic rover to make a soft landing on the Moon in nearly 40 years, looks to have broken down amid reports of a “mechanical control abnormality”.

Repair work is being organised for the spacecraft, which has been on the Moon’s surface since mid-December.
