CULTURE - DJ Jeff Mills: The 'Man From Tomorrow'

Can you imagine living on the moon? Techno DJ Jeff Mills certainly can: the man who’s been pushing dance music boundaries for over 30 years is now the subject of an art film being presented at the Louvre, entitled "Man From Tomorrow". He tells Catherine Nicholson why he thinks lunar parties could be a possibility, and why he still likes to DJ good old fashioned raves – in a cutting edge way, of course.
Also on the show: we meet the resourceful children of Mumbai’s Dharavi slum who are finding musical inspiration in the rubbish heaps that surround them – and seeing a way out of some of their lives’ hardships thanks to their recycled-instrument-band, "Dharavi Rocks".

"Man From Tomorrow" by Jacqueline Caux, with a soundtrack by Jeff Mills, will be the closing film at the Louvre’s "Journées Internationales du Film sur l’Art", on February 2nd 2014.
