Calling ahead…. it’s a trick many buyers use to save time, avoiding long store lines and the hassle of dealing with a salesman. However one man in Nashville used that approach for a thoroughly-planned out robbery.

The unidentified male reportedly called his local GameStop store and told employees he wanted to purchase specific video games and an Xbox console. The man said he was on his way to work and needed the items ready for purchase and pick up so he could be in and out quickly.

Staffers did indeed pile up all his stuff and the male did show up, but he made it clear he didn’t intend on actually paying for the goods. Instead he produced a semi automatic handgun and ordered an employee to get on the ground.

The man grabbed his preordered products and went to the cash register where he swiped about $600. After he got everything he wanted, the male fled from the store.

Investigators describe the suspect as a 20 to 30 year old black male, standing roughly 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 200 and 250 pounds.
