In this guitar lesson, our young teacher Cameron will teach you how to apply the modes into a Blues solo in a very practical way. As you may know, the Greek modes consist of seven notes combining whole and half steps in several combinations to produce different feelings and moods. These are the names of the modes: Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian (the minor scale) and Locrian.
So, the idea is to go out a little bit from the classic minor pentatonic scale, so for example over a dominant 7th chord we will play a mixolydian mode. This is something pretty used by more advanced players so you may want to check out this cool lesson!
Ok, hope you like this lesson and don´t forget to come up with your own ideas, which is the best advice for starting to find `your´ unique sound and style. That is all for today... Also we suggest that you keep enjoying and learning from Cameron and all the staff at Guitarcontrol.com! Where? In our free guitar lessons at www.youtube.com/guitarcontrol
