A Turkish photo-journalist has been freed after being kidnapped in Syria last year, according to Turkey’s official news agency, Anatolia.

Bunyamin Aygun, who works for Miliyet newspaper, went missing after meeting with an opposition military leader in late November.

He was one of around 30 journalists who have disappeared in the country and his release comes just hours after thousands of reporters protested in Istanbul to call on their government to do more to secure their freedom.
