In this guitar lesson, Silvio Gazquez will teach you the cool lick from the classic song "Sultans of swing" by Dire Straits.
Dire Straits were rock band from the UK, formed in 1977 by Mark Knopfler, David Knopfler, John Illsley and Pick Withers. They had several musical influences, including jazz, folk, blues, and rock and roll.
So, the example of today´s lesson is a bluesy pentatonic lick in D minor with some cool bendings and legato (hammers on & pulls off). You can also try this lick in a straight blues situation...
Ok, hope you like this lesson and don´t forget to come up with your own ideas, which is the best advice for starting to find `your´ unique sound and style. That is all for today... Also we suggest that you keep enjoying and learning from Silvio Gazquez and all the staff of Guitarcontrol.com! Where? In our free guitar lessons at www.youtube.com/guitarcontrol
