Shattered glass crunches against the concrete.

A haze of smoke drifts above the street.

And dozens of Syrians scream through the commotion of another deadly attack.

New amateur video appears to show the aftermath of an air raid in Aleppo.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says Syrian army helicopters dropped improvised barrel bombs onto the area.

The attack killed 36 people, nearly half of them children, the observatory said.

Charred wreckage and mangled metal from cars continued burning throughout the day.

Reuters cannot independently verify the video, which was posted on a social media website.

Elsewhere in Aleppo, bulldozers could be seen removing debris from destroyed neighborhoods.

The attack comes as government forces in recent weeks have driven rebel fighters back from towns to Aleppo's southeast.
