Obamas mark Newtown anniversary with moment of silence

President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle observed a moment of silence on Saturday (October 14) to honor the victims of the at Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

They lit candles White House map room on the one-year anniversary of the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut that took the lives of 20 first graders and six adults.

The Obamas lit 26, one for each victim.

Earlier, the President marked the anniversary by calling for tighter gun control and expanded mental health care in his weekly address.
