Future Japan Water Park Allows Visitors to Swim With and Eat Dolphins

The town of Taiji recently announced a proposal for a new park. It will allow patrons to swim with dolphins and other marine life forms but after visitors are done playing with the sea creatures, they will also be able to eat them.

An upcoming water park in Japan is hoping to offer visitors a one-of-a-kind experience. However the details of those plans are not without controversy.

The town of Taiji recently announced the proposal. It will allow patrons to swim with dolphins and other marine life forms. But, here’s where it becomes contentious.

After visitors are done playing with the sea creatures, they will also be able to eat them. Some of the fare that will be offered at the facility will reportedly be whale and dolphin meat.

Although that type of meat is a delicacy in the area, the combination of interacting with the creatures then dining on their counterpart’s meat is up for debate

According to a town authority “We already use dolphins and small whales as a source of tourism in the cove where dolphin-hunting takes place. In summer swimmers can enjoy watching the mammals that are released from a partitioned-off space. But we plan to do it on a larger scale.”

The minds behind the park have remained consistent in the practices of hunting thousands of dolphins despite opposition from conservationists. What do you think of the future water park?
