Iran fights dwindling birth rates

Iran is facing a crisis: its population is ageing, and the country's birth rate has dropped to one percent. The government says the situation is a threat to national security and the economy. It has now scrapped family planning and increased money for new marriages in an effort to get its citizens to pro-create. But that encouragement is largely being ignored.
