Some robbers plan everything down to the last detail. Others…not so much. One would-be bank robber is now in police custody after attempting to hold up a banking facility located in Union, Maine.

The suspect, Joseph M. Lewis allegedly arrived at the bank wearing a ski mask. The major problem was that he got there a little too late.

Employees had just locked the front door which leads to the lobby when Lewis showed up. Several witnesses saw Lewis and given that he was showcasing typical bank robber attire, he was noticed easily.

The local police were alerted, even though Lewis had managed to get back into his car and flee the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Thankfully, those who saw him leave took note of his vehicle license plate and color. It only took a couple minutes for cops to catch up with Lewis.

The ski mask was reportedly in the car, leading police to believe he fully intended to rob the bank. Lewis was quickly arrested. No weapon was found in the car and Lewis has no previous criminal record.
