Fate can sometimes be incredibly cruel. A woman in Woodbridge, Virginia was recently killed after she was struck by a vehicle. The victim, Sally Ann Okuly had been battling for her life prior to the accident.

She not only survived a bout with cancer but she also lived through a horrific motorcycle crash approximately 6 months ago. Since the accident, she had stayed within the confines of her home while she recovered from the injuries she sustained.

On a recent Sunday, she finally felt good enough to venture outside and go for a walk. She only wanted to cross the street from her house and stop at a convenience store for a coffee and newspaper.

Tragically, as Okuly walked across the road, a motorist failed to yield and fatally hit her. The driver, 24-year-old Amanda Styles-Mays was charged with reckless driving and failure to stop for a pedestrian.

Okuly’s 41st wedding anniversary with her husband Bill was the day after her untimely death. The couple had two children together.

Bill, who is struggling to come to terms with his wife’s passing described her as “the most giving person ever.”
