Man impaled on school gate dies of injuries

Freak accident death: Rio Linda High School teacher and football coach Marion Adams died Monday night after accidentally impaling himself on a parking garage gate.

Adams was leaving the school's parking garage on his bike and failed to see the partially open gate as he turned to say goodbye to his players. This caused him to become impaled onto the gate. One student who approached Adams said the coach was still able to nod his head. However, Adams later died at the hospital, despite undergoing two surgeries to repair his injuries.
