Belarus extradites Uralkali CEO to Russia

Belarus has extradited the CEO of potash producer Uralkali to Russia.
Vladislav Baumgertner was arrested in August and placed under house arrest a month later as a row between his company and its Belarusian trading partner escalated.
Russia’s prosecutor general said on Thursday that Belarus had agreed to extradite Baumgertner, who had been charged with abuse of power and embezzlement.
The extradition will clear the way for the neighbours to settle a row over one of the main sources of foreign income for Belarus.
