An Iron Man 3 publicity event went wrong in Jefferson City, Missouri this weekend when terrified moviegoers called the cops on actors with fake guns.

Capital 8 Theatres hired several actors dressed as characters to entertain guests during the film's opening weekend. However, several customers mistook some of the actors in black S.H.I.E.L.D. costumes, carrying fake weapons, for real crazed gunmen and called the police. The police arrived ready to tackle a shooting, only to learn it was all a big misunderstanding. Capital 8's management has issued an apology on its Facebook page.
