Bank robbers often go overboard in the disguise department. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a bizarre crime in which a robbery suspect wore a Albert Einstein mask while holding up a bank.

The unknown male robbed a Wells Fargo branch in Venice, Florida. The mask he wore was quite intricate, complete with wrinkles, a moustache and even grey, straggly hair.

The rest of his costume was comprised of a simple white sweatshirt, dark pants and light colored gloves. It was not released whether or not the suspect brandished a weapon during the crime and exactly how much money he made off with.

A witness to the robbery attempted to apprehend the makeshift Einstein, but he reportedly pepper sprayed the Good Samaritan. The suspect was able to flee the scene in a red getaway car driven by an accomplice.

Local police have released a surveillance photo of the man, hoping someone will recognize him despite the odd disguise. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office directly or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers.
