Part of the social contract of giving kids free candy on Halloween is that the homeowner gets to scare the trick-or-treaters the best they can.

And Ken Spooner was prepared for just that as he sat on his porch perfectly still dressed as a Grim Reaper monster decoration while wearing a GoPro camera to capture the spooked kids.

But he felt simply terrible after terrifying two little princesses who were obviously Halloween newbies.

“No, no, no, no. It’s OK. I’m so sorry,” he begged their mother as he showered the princess sisters with potato chips.

But that didn’t stop him from scaring other kids through the night.
