Police in Grand Junction, Colorado are desperately searching for a man, who reportedly used pepper spray to blind a woman right before stealing her pet monkey.

The female victim from Missouri had arranged a meeting with the unidentified suspect so she could sell him a black cap Capuchin monkey. The robbery occurred at about 6 am on a recent Monday.

The woman and man met in the parking lot of a local La Quinta Inn to carry out the monkey sale. However things went horribly wrong. Instead of handing over monkey, the male pepper sprayed the female and took off with her monkey.

The victim walked away from the ordeal with minor injuries. She described the suspect as a Middle Eastern man in his mid to late 30s. She claimed his height is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and that he has a thin build.

Local police pointed out that it is illegal to possess monkeys in Colorado, but ownership is allowed in Missouri, which is where the woman attacked was from.
