Grumpy Harrison Ford Roles: Harrison Ford 1

Finally, there’s no doubt that the greatest grumpy role Harrison Ford has played over the last 40 years of work has been as himself. When Ford did talk shows in the early days of his career, the results were always awkward, because the actor could barely disguise his disgust/discomfort with the promotion process. Then, somewhere in the '90s, it all changed. David Letterman and Conan O’Brien starting playing off Ford’s grumpy talk-show demeanor, and soon that transformed into a deliberate shtick and late-night comedy gold. Whenever Ford sits down on a talk show couch these days, audiences can buckle up for a two-barreled blast of grumpy comedy bliss. Weirdly, Ford has never been funnier or grumpier onscreen than he has in his talk show spots, but someday, hopefully, that will change (possibly in his upcoming appearance in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues this Christmas).
